We have served as Financial Advisor on more than hundred transactions in the renewable space across project financing, equity and mezzanine debt raising, and mergers & acquisitions. In many cases, our involvement has begun in the project development stage, continued through financing, and culminated in the sell-down by the original developer after the start of commercial operations. We have developed an unparalleled expertise in refinancing portfolios of renewable energy assets and have been involved in some of the most high profile M&A transactions in the sector.

Europe: A strategic sector for our team in PariS anD madrid

In Europe, the Astris team has been at the forefront of innovation in the renewable energy space, having served as Financial Advisor in relation to some of the most visible “pathfinder transactions” starting a decade ago. Our team now ranks amongst the most active in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal where we have been involved in many large scale portfolio transactions and high profile M&A mandates. Building on our track record in Southern Europe Astris is expanding towards new countries: 2020 marked our first closing in Poland and our first mandate in the Nordic countries.

Latin America: we have led project financings for several “first of its kind” transactions in the region which have set the standard for utility scale project financing

In LatAm, the Astris team has been behind some of the most relevant firsts in the region: first utility-scale solar project in Chile, in Peru, in El Salvador; and more recently, first thermosolar project on the continent (and largest in the world in fact - Cerro Dominador, Chile, US$ 1bn of financing raised in 2018 on behalf of private equity group EIG). Our team has also been very active in the M&A space throughout Latin America, notably in Brazil where for instance we advised on a number of wind projects.

South east asia: opening new markets for our clients

Of late Astris has been involved in a number of project financings in the region, notably in Vietnam where we maintain a permanent presence and where we managed to raise local currency, limited recourse financing for a number of solar and wind assets.

Beyond Europe, Latin America, and SEA, Astris Finance has been active in regions where its preferred clients have pursued opportunities - our work experience encompasses projects in Japan, South Africa, India and the United States.
